Frank E. Peretti is an American Christian author known for his suspenseful and apocalyptic novels. Born on January 25, 1951, in Pasadena, California, Peretti was raised in a devout Christian family and attended Pepperdine University. He worked as a youth pastor and high school English teacher before pursuing writing full-time. Peretti's breakthrough came in 1986 with the release of "This Present Darkness," an apocalyptic thriller that became a bestseller.
