Emily Brightwell

Emily Brightwell was an American author known for her children's literature. Born in 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama, Brightwell graduated from Auburn University. Her debut novel, "Up in the Air: The Story of Harriet Quimby, America's First Female Pilot," was published in 1983. Brightwell's other notable works include "Morgan's Zoo," "Sing Down the Moon," and "The Voyage of the Beagle."
