Edward Rutherford

Edward Rutherford (born June 1948) is a New Zealand-born British author best known for his historical novels. Rutherford's father was an English diplomat. Rutherford moved to England as a child, being brought up in various countries. He studied history at King's College, Cambridge, and law at the University of London. He has published over 10 novels, including "Sarum" (1987), "London" (1997), and "New York" (2003). His novels often span centuries and feature large ensemble casts of characters. Rutherford's works have garnered critical acclaim, winning numerous awards including the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
