Dick Francis

Dick Francis (1920-2010) was a British crime novelist who wrote extensively about horse racing, a milieu he knew well as a champion jockey. After retiring from racing due to injury, he began writing full-time in his mid-forties, and went on to publish over forty bestselling novels. His intricate plots, fast-paced action, and insider knowledge of the racing world earned him widespread acclaim.
