Chris Whitaker

Chris Whitaker is a British crime fiction author born in 1962 in London. After working as a journalist for 25 years, Whitaker quit to pursue writing fiction. His debut novel, "Tall Oaks," won the CWA Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel in 2016. His second novel, "The Missing File," was shortlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award in 2018. Whitaker's third novel, "We Begin at the End," became an international bestseller and won the Edgar Award for Best Novel in 2020. Whitaker's novels have been praised for their evocative settings and exploration of familial relationships.
