Caroline Graham

Caroline Graham (1931 - 2002) was a prolific British crime novelist. Born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, Graham pursued a career in social work before turning to writing in her 40s. Her most notable creation is Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby, the central character in a series of cozy mystery novels set in the fictional English village of Midsomer. Graham's books have been widely praised for their intricate plots, well-developed characters, and evocative depiction of rural life. They have been translated into more than 30 languages and adapted into a long-running television series. Graham's awards include the 1994 Crime Writers' Association Silver Dagger and the 1997 Macavity Award for Best Mystery Novel. Her work continues to enjoy critical and commercial success, with her Barnaby novels maintaining a dedicated fan base worldwide.
