Brenda Chapman

Brenda Chapman is an award-winning American animator, director, and screenwriter. She was born in 1962 in Illinois, and graduated from the California Institute of the Arts. Chapman's notable works include co-directing Disney's "The Lion King" (1994) and "Brave" (2012), a film that she also wrote and directed. "Brave" won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2013, and was praised for its strong female protagonist and beautiful animation. Throughout her career, Chapman has received numerous accolades, including the Annie Award for Writing in a Feature Production for her work on "The Lion King" and "Brave". She has also been honored with the Women in Film Crystal Award for her contributions to the film industry.
