Becky Chambers

Becky Chambers is a Hugo Award-winning American science fiction author. She was born in 1985 in Oakland, California. Chambers is best known for her Wayfarers series, which explores the lives of characters who live in a futuristic society where space travel is common. The series has been praised for its heartwarming and optimistic portrayal of human relationships. Chambers has received numerous awards for her work, including the Hugo Award for Best Novella in 2019 for "A Closed and Common Orbit." Her work has also been translated into more than 20 languages. Chambers is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in science fiction and has spoken out against racism, sexism, and homophobia in the genre. She is also a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and has included many diverse characters in her work.
