Barbara Damato is an American author and professor of English. She has written several novels, essays, and poems. Her work often explores themes of family, loss, and the search for identity. Her novel, "The Idiots," was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. She has also received a Whiting Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
