Art Taylor

**Art Taylor (1929-1995)** Art Taylor was an American jazz drummer. Born in New York, he was influenced by his musical family and played with early bop musicians like Dizzy Gillespie and Dexter Gordon. Taylor became known for his swinging style and versatility. Throughout his career, he performed and recorded with numerous jazz legends, including Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. His notable works include albums such as "Taylor's Wailers" (1959) and "Poppin'" (1961). Taylor received critical acclaim and recognition for his rhythmic prowess and innovative playing. In 1992, he was inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame. His legacy as a drummer and bandleader continues to inspire musicians worldwide.
