**Anne Holt** Anne Holt (born November 16, 1958) is a Norwegian crime writer and politician. Born into a family of lawyers, Holt studied law in Oslo. After working as a defense attorney and journalist, she published her first novel, "Blind Goddess" (1993), which introduced her series featuring detective Hanne Wilhelmsen. Holt's novels are known for their sharply drawn characters, complex plots, and social commentary. Holt has won numerous awards, including: * The Golden Key Award (1993) * The Riverton Prize (1998 and 2005) * The Martin Beck Award (2004) Her books have been translated into more than 30 languages and adapted into several television series. Holt's critical success is widely acknowledged for her insightful exploration of moral dilemmas, societal issues, and the human condition.
