**Anne Holt** Anne Holt (born November 16, 1958) is a Norwegian crime writer and politician. Born into a family of lawyers, Holt studied law in Oslo. After working as a defense attorney and journalist, she published her first novel, "Blind Goddess" (1993), which introduced her series featuring detective Hanne Wilhelmsen. Holt's novels are known for their sharply drawn characters, complex plots, and social commentary.
