Alafair Burke

Alafair Burke is an American novelist, legal commentator, and former prosecutor. She graduated from Stanford Law School and worked as a deputy district attorney in Oregon. Burke's first novel, "Judgment Calls," was published in 2004 and introduced protagonist Samantha Kincaid, a Portland homicide detective. Since then, she has written over 20 novels, including the Ellie Hatcher and Under Suspicion series. Burke received the 2011 Mary Higgins Clark Award for "The Ex," and her novels have been translated into over 20 languages. She has been praised for her suspenseful plots, legal expertise, and strong female characters. Burke's work has received positive reviews from both critics and readers alike, establishing her as a notable figure in the crime fiction genre.
