A.J. Rivers

A.J. Rivers is a pseudonym for crime fiction author Laura Lippman. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Lippman graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Lippman's A.J. Rivers series features private investigator Tess Monaghan. The first novel, "Baltimore Blues," won the Shamus Award for Best First P.I. Novel and was nominated for an Edgar Award. The series has been critically acclaimed for its complex characters, gripping plots, and vivid portrayal of Baltimore. In addition to the A.J. Rivers series, Lippman has published numerous other novels, including "What the Dead Know," "The Most Dangerous Thing," and "Dream Girl," which won the Edgar Award for Best Novel in 2017. Lippman has also received the Agatha Award for Best Contemporary Novel and the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award. Her works have been translated into more than 20 languages.
